The Community
Lancaster retirement communities like this offer a friendly neighborhood environment – and more.
On July 1, 2008, Mount Joy Country Homes, already one of the well-established retirement communities in Lancaster County, became officially affiliated with Messiah Village, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) that serves as a ministry of the Brethren in Christ Church. Qualified Mount Joy Country Homes residents will have priority entry access at Messiah Village, a benefit that makes it unique among other Lancaster retirement communities.
Located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Messiah Village operates under a philosophy of enhancing the lives of older adults with Christ-like love. Its residents, clients, employees, volunteers, families, donors, external partners and other friends work together support this mission in a variety of ways. Messiah Village managed Mount Joy Country Homes for 10 years prior to its official affiliation. Now, plans are underway to add new cottages – as well as additional living options and services – as part of the future expansion of this active adult community in Pennsylvania.
